Selmer USA’s history began with Alexandre Selmer opening a New York retail store in the early 1900s, which evolved into the Selmer Company. After Alexandre returned to France, his employee George Bundy took over the American business, establishing a factory in Elkhart, Indiana, in 1927, initially to import and distribute French instruments. The company later began manufacturing its own instruments, focusing on student models, and grew significantly through acquisitions, eventually merging with C.G. Conn to form Conn-Selmer in 2003.

Today, Conn-Selmer continues to manufacture high-quality band and orchestral instruments and serves as the North American distributor of Henri Selmer Paris woodwinds.
